Mr. Nelson has more than a decade of experience executing merger, acquisition, divestiture, and capital raising transactions in the middle market. During his career, he has advised both public and private companies across a variety of industries, including advanced manufacturing; aerospace, defense, and government services; paper and packaging; building products; transportation and logistics; and industrial services. Prior to joining Harris Williams & Co., Mr. Nelson was a Director in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group at Wells Fargo Securities. Additional experience includes work in the corporate development group at FairPoint Communications, Inc., a private equity-backed telecom platform.

Mr. Nelson earned an M.B.A. from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia and a B.A. in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Mr. Nelson lives in Richmond with his wife and two sons.
