Harris Williams & Co. announces that Carolina Crescent Health Plan, Inc. (CCHP) has signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by strategic buyer Absolute Total Care, Inc. (ATC), a subsidiary of Centene Corporation (Centene, NYSE:CNC). CCHP is a controlled affiliate of University Health Services, Inc. (UHS), a component of Virginia Commonwealth University Health System Authority (VCU Health System). Harris Williams is acting as the exclusive advisor to CCHP.

Harris Williams & Co. announces the sale of 25 Ukrop's Super Markets, Inc.(Ukrop's) stores to the Giant-Carlisle Division of Royal Ahold, an international group of leading supermarket companies based in Europe and the United States. The transaction, valued at approximately $140 million, closed on February 8, 2010. Harris Williams & Co. acted as the exclusive advisor to Ukrop's. The transaction was led by Chris Williams, Derek Lewis and John Klim from the firm's Richmond office.

Both Mr. Purdy and Carousel have retained an interest in the company, and Mr. Purdy will continue to serve on the Agdata Board of Directors. The firm anticipates increased global M&A activity throughout 2010 with cross-border deal activity continuing to rise.
