Harris Williams & Co., a preeminent middle market investment bank focused on the advisory needs of clients worldwide for more than 25 years, announces that it exclusively advised EP Minerals, LLC (EP Minerals), a portfolio company of Golden Gate Capital, on its sale to U.S. Silica Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:SLCA; U.S. Silica) for $750 million. EP Minerals is a global producer of engineered materials derived from industrial minerals including diatomaceous earth (DE), clay (calcium bentonite) and perlite. The transaction was led by Tim Webb, Patrick McNulty, John Lautemann, Ty Denoncourt and Chris Toussaint of Harris Williams & Co.’s Industrials Group as well as John Neuner of the firm’s Richmond office.
EP Minerals, headquartered in Reno, Nevada, is a global producer of engineered materials derived from industrial minerals including DE, calcium bentonite and perlite. The company’s unique industrial minerals are used as filter aids, absorbents and functional additives for a variety of industries including food and beverage, biofuels, swimming pools, oil and gas, farm and home, landscape, sports turf, paint, plastics and insecticides. The company’s mines are located in Nevada, Oregon, Tennessee and Mississippi.
